Dear Friends:

Jeremiah 10:23, “O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.” Daily I see the truth of this verse in the affairs of the world as well as in my personal life. I continue to be thankful that the Lord has seen fit to allow me to do worthwhile work in directing the office of FOMMI. Each of you holds a special place in my heart for your years of friendship and support. It is because of that that Fisher-Mund’s mantra of “Continue on” can be a reality.

Since the last letter I guess the most memorable event would be when I began to set crab traps again as the weather is cooling. I brought my catch home and got the steamer pot out, put in water and crab boil, added the steamer basket with the crabs, put the lid on, turned on the heat and promptly went to the laundry room sink to scrub the bucket. When I returned to the kitchen my nose told me I had been too long and the seasonings were scorching! I took the pot off the burner, put the steamer basket in the sink and took the pot out to the porch ASAP. Just that short time had filled the room with fumes that made breathing difficult. After coughing my tongue out (figure of speech) I opened windows, turned on every fan and increased the fan on the a/c unit and retired to the front porch for a long while. Finally I was able to breathe inside again. I told my fireman son-in-law I now understood a little of what people in house fires suffered with smoke inhalation! (The crabs were not affected and tasted good!)

Bro. Jeph reports a newly opened Bible study which is inside the domestic airport in San Fernando City, La Union, Philippines, near FOM Baptist Church. He was asked by the police agency to extend the ministry of teaching their personnel on both Bible topics and values, planting good seeds in their hearts. For the next school term for FOM Bible School there are 13 students enrolled. On the last Tuesday of October a graduation service will be held for 5 students, one of whom has surrendered his life (along with his wife) to be missionaries to Indonesia. FOM Bible School has been training students for many years, with the first graduation in 1998.

Bro. Lemon says all of ministry works are going well. The next election (January or February 2026) continues to cause disruption widely. It is expected that the Islamic extremist group will take the power for the next five years. Prayer is needed. The third floor construction is also going well. A foreman and a laborer were injured when working but are now recovered and back to work. I am including some photos of the literacy mission school programs, crops being produced on ministry land, and the Bible school.

Our co-worker in a restricted access nation reports that heavy rains in August and September produced flash floods destroying major cultivations, and many people became sick due to viral infections. Some students and believers were hospitalized but are now recovering. Outreach programs and Bible study groups are progressing, but in one place they had to stop due to the strong opposition from anti-Christian groups. Many young people are addicted to drugs and alcohol. He also reports some personal health issues and requests prayer.

The new radio station in Borongan Samar, Philippines mentioned in August’s prayer letter is now on the air. I recently was told that a U.S. listener links his morning alarm to the daily Podcast, so he awakes to the voice of Fisher-Mund.

The jail ministry in Escambia County Jail, Pensacola, Florida, with Bro. Henry Vick, continues to give the gospel to as many as will receive it (and some do just that).

Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support to FOMMI.

Sincerely,
Lenora Mund
