Dear Friends:

Thank you for taking the time to read this report. FOMMI is so blessed to have friends and supporters like you! It seems at each reporting I am acknowledging the homegoing of another old friend. This time it is Pastor Victor Wilson of Loveland, Ohio.

Summer continues to keep us with extreme heat coupled with humidity, making any outside work hurried and not enjoyed. More than once I have remembered the days of my childhood when air-conditioning was not to be found in homes, autos, or businesses. Those memories made me realize how “soft” I have become. Can you relate?

Bro. Jeph in the Philippines reports two baptisms in July, and one other pending in August. They have endured two strong typhoons since the last reporting. Flooding covered much of San Fernando, however FOM Baptist Church and Bible School is on higher ground and did not flood. The church provided shelter for a young couple and their baby whose house was flooded.

The unrest in the Mid-East is affecting countries like India and Bangladesh even though the main targets are not there. In the northern states of India the government is trying to pass an “anti-conversion” bill, making evangelism precarious. Heavy rains have wreaked havoc on crops and created mudslides causing severe damage to roads and many homes. However the Bible Institute is functioning well, and has admitted some women for this academic year. Bible study groups have been established in 24 places in 5 different states, with another one being prepared in an unreached area. India is also restricting foreign funds coming for gospel work.

Bangladesh’s various ministries continue to flourish. The children’s ministry grows with each new area evangelized. Literacy is important as a springboard to Bible training for converts, producing the future of evangelism (see picture).

Even though the powers that be at the Escambia County Jail continue to restrict our use of “paper” products like Anchors of the Faith, requests continue to come to the office from other correctional facilities in many states for the “paper” copies. Even foreign ships accept the publication (see a picture, sent by our friends Glenn and Marci Mongold, Fishers of Men Maritime Ministry Norfolk, of some seamen receiving copies in Norfolk, VA).

Sincerely,
Lenora Mund
