Dear Friends:

Since our last prayer letter of April 13, two old friends and supporters have left the trials of this life for the portals of Heaven—remembering Rodger Wetzel and Ronald Sutek. (I envy them.)

With their improving health, my sister-in-law and brother-in-law do not need me to help transport them as much. However, my days recently have included providing transportation for a widowed neighbor who suffered a broken arm with a slip and fall while visiting her 92-year-old brother in rehab. She has such a sweet attitude, it is a pleasure to help her. (I am wondering if “chauffeuring” is my gift.)

Until the last week of May our area was experiencing a severe drought. However, since Memorial Day we have had so much rain that over a foot of deficit has been made up and we are now on the plus side of rainfall for the year. What a difference a day makes!

Bro. Jeph in the Philippines reports continual blessings from the Lord in reaching individuals and families this year. In their Family Camp alone they had more than 500 in attendance and families were strengthened spiritually. He is thankful his mother, Rose, is still able to serve the Lord with his whole family. A married couple who were recent Bible school graduates are presently working with fellow missionaries in Indonesia to familiarize themselves with the culture and how they could approach Indonesians. The Bible school has already produced pastors, pastors’ wives, missionaries and some part-time workers since its inception. Since their building is basically a concrete shell, it has developed visible cracks. To prevent leaks when rainy season comes they are putting cladding over the outside. (Notice the building cracks in the photo showing the front cladding completed and extending to one side.)

India has recently had state elections and the Communist Party lost to the Congress Party. It is questionable if one is better than the other for the common people. Inflation is affecting India as well as the USA and the rest of the world. VBS has been held with sixty children from different backgrounds. Twelve children accepted our Saviour and Lord in their lives.

Bro. Lemon in Bangladesh reports baptizing the highest number of new converts at one time recently (78). The new converts are from new areas, bringing the number of churches from 17 to 20.

We still need prayer for the Escambia County Jail ministry in Pensacola that is restricting our use of “paper” products like Anchors of the Faith.

Thank you for making it possible for us to keep fishing.

Sincerely,
Lenora Mund
