Prayer Letter & The Cast Net - June 2025

Dear Friends:

Job said, “My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle…” in Job 7:6, and I have to agree. In the last prayer letter I was implying that time was going slowly! Expressing both thoughts sounds like ramblings from a mixed-up mind! I would have to say that how I feel and relate depends upon my fleshly ability to “keep up” with necessary tasks of life and the ministry. I do appreciate, and yea, could not function, without your prayers. Thank you for providing for that vital need as well as financial support.

Spring lightning storms struck us again but all is repaired. At the writing of this letter that yearly danger is shrinking, giving way to hurricane watches. We have endured unusual weather (as has much of the U.S.), so dread to think what that may do to hurricane season. Nevertheless we press on by God’s grace!

The jail ministry headed by Bro. Henry Vick continues to blossom, but not without opposition. The workers remain encouraged, inmates are being saved, and some are even reading the Bible that is given to them at the completion of Anchors of the Faith. We are thankful for a recent designated donation of $200 for the purchase of Bibles for prisoners.

Bro. Jeph and Marge in the Philippines have recently visited with his brother, Joel, and his family, in Canada, so I did not get an update from him.

Bro. Lemon says things are calm in his area of Bangladesh, even though our State Department advises against travel there at this time. Bro. Lemon is working on his dissertation that he hopes to have completed by the end of the year. Also, construction has begun again on the third floor of the building, so his cup is full and running over with chores as well as blessings.

Our national pastor in India is busy with summer VBS in many areas. In May he was hospitalized from food poisoning but is recovered now. Twelve students graduated from the Bible School this term and more are registered for next term.

FOMMI continues to receive requests through email from around the world (especially a lot of African nations) for financial support and some for teaching materials and Bibles. When they come from a country where I know a missionary there, I have them checked out. So far none have been legitimate. It is a sad time when we cannot take requests at face value and extend what help we can without checking for scams. Things like this make us look for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He says, “…Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” Revelation 22:20.

Thankful for you!
